Rough Seas warning still in effect till Monday

If you plan on going to the beach this weekend, please be warned that rough sea conditions are expected to last till Monday.

Rough Seas have been positioned at Yellow Level since last Sunday.

According to the Meteorological Office, long-period northerly swells are affecting nearshore activity in northern, and to a lesser extent sheltered coastal areas.

Effects are usually in the form of occasional battering waves, which can lead to disruption to sea bathing and other nearshore coastal activities.

Mild coastal flooding and damage/erosion are also possible. Near-shore impacts can also be enhanced during high tides.

Sea bathers, fishermen, and small craft operators should carefully monitor nearshore coastal sea conditions and exercise caution along affected areas.

Be alert for dangerous breaking waves and currents. Follow the instructions of lifeguards. Monitor updates from the official weather source, the TTMS at
