Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley speaks with an employee at VEMCO.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has visited Caribbean Packaging Industries, Nestle, TYE Manufacturing and VEMCO as the manufacturing sector has resumed operations.
This comes a few days after the Government entered phase two of a six-tier plan to ease restrictions implemented to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus. On May 21, the entire manufacturing sector was given the all-clear to return to work.
During Wednesday's visit, the Prime Minister heard from manufacturers regarding the measures they have enforced in response to COVID-19 and the strides they are making to ensure production.
Dr Rowley was accompanied on the visits by Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee-Scoon and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Agriculture, Dr John Alleyne.
