Sandman, wife shot and killed in Las Cuevas
One man is said to be in custody following a brazen attack overnight that left four people dead in Las Cuevas.
Dead are Vaughn Mieres, known popularly as Sandman, his wife Lite Mieres, Nigel 'Blood' Octim, and a fourth unidentified man, according to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
Two bodyguards were among the four killed.
Police are currently questioning a person of interest as investigations are continuing.
The incident took place around 2:45 am.
Loop was told that the attackers went to the house by car and left by boat. The attackers abandoned the car by the Last Cuevas Health Centre and made their way down to the sea where they escaped.
One alleged shooter was held at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
Sandman was a suspected drug dealer who has been arrested several times for possession of firearms and ammunition, among other things.
