A husband and wife couple are currently in police custody after they were held with 16 rounds of shotgun ammunition.
The couple, said to be in their 30s, were arrested around 8:45 pm yesterday at their home along McShine Street, Sangre Grande.
According to police reports, officers of the Eastern Division, under the supervision of Snr Sup Nelson, with assistance from Sgt Lopez-Carr, Cpl Ramnarine, and PC “Alonzo "BATMAN" Phillip, received key information which led them to the home.
A search warrant was executed and the officers allegedly found and seized 16 rounds of 12 guage ammunition.
The couple, neither of whom have a firearm user’s license, were arrested immediately.
They were questioned and are expected to be charged and brought before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today.
