Santa Cruz man to face court for Chinese national's murder

A Santa Cruz man is expected to appear in the Tunapuna 1st Magistrates’ Court on Friday, charged with the murder of a Chinese businessman.
Ji Hong Huang, the owner of Happiness Supermarket, was murdered on April 7th, 2015.
The suspect, Marvin Matura of La Canoa, Santa Cruz was arrested and charged on March 6 by officers attached to the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, who acted on intelligence received that the suspect was hiding in the North Eastern Division.
SORT ran a human intelligence and surveillance operation within the Northeastern Division to locate the suspect who was arrested in a silver Volkswagen Jetta in the Santa Cruz district.
The suspect was taken to the Tunapuna Police Station and was handed over to the Homicide Region 2 for further investigations.
