Updated: Sat remains the same after suffering stroke

Satnarine Maharaj, the Secretary-General of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS), remains in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital after suffering a stroke on Sunday.

This was confirmed by former Government Minister, Devant Maharaj.

Speaking with Loop TT via text message on Monday, he confirmed that 88-year-old Maharaj can only be visited by his close family members. 

He also offered prayers and wished him a speedy recovery.

"Mr Maharaj remains in the same conditions according to my sources. The family are the only ones allowed to see and visit him at this time. It is expected that the family will issue a statement to the public soon. My prayers and thoughts are with Mr. Maharaj at this time"

General Secretary of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS), Satnarine Maharaj, has suffered a stroke.

His son confirmed the news on Sunday.

The 88-year-old is currently warded at a private hospital.
