Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) 2019 results will be published as has been done in the past.
Education Minister Anthony Garcia made the announcement at a media conference at the Ministry’s St Vincent Street, Port of Spain headquarters on Monday, following an ongoing debate on whether results of the placement exam should be published in daily newspapers.
However, the Minister said the requests of parents who have written to the Ministry to have their children's names withheld will be honoured.
Further, he indicated that going forward, parents will be given the option during registration to choose if they wish to have their children's names published or withheld.
Chief Education Officer Harrilal Seecharan noted that only a small number of parents have made such requests.
The Ministry has advised that with only six working days left until the release of results, requests for non-publication which were not previously submitted, cannot be facilitated.
SEA 2019 results will be distributed to schools on June 28.
Traditionally, results are published in newspapers the day after it's distributed in schools.
