Search still on for Valencia shooter

Police are still investigating the murder of 42-year-old David Soogrim.

Inquiries into his killing are ongoing, and an autopsy is carded to take place today at the Forensic Science Center in St James.

A description of the assailant has been provided to the police and arrests are said to be imminent.

Soogrim was shot dead on Friday night in the vicinity of the Bull Bull’s Bar, along the Old Valencia Road, Valencia.

According to police reports, at about 8:00 pm that day he had an argument with a man known to him, during which the man pulled out a gun and shot Soogrim at point blank range.

The assailant then fled the scene on foot.

The wounded man was rushed to the Sangre Grande District Hospital, however, he died while undergoing treatment.
