Search on for teen who stabbed Nigerian man
Northern Division police are searching for a 16-year-old who stabbed a Nigerian man on Saturday, leaving him in a serious condition.
The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Chickie Eze.
Eze lives along Tumpuna Road, Arima.
According to police reports, around 5 pm on Saturday, he was said to be at a park in the area with his 10-year-old son.
There was said to be a confrontation between the 16-year-old and the 10-year-old during which the younger boy was pushed to the ground.
Eze intervened and admonished the 16-year-old, and even allegedly slapped the teenager.
The young man left the park, however, he returned a short time later with a sharp instrument and stabbed Eze in the chest, puncturing his lung.
The teenager then fled the scene.
The wounded man was rushed to the Arima District Hospital where he was treated before being transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he remains warded.
