Second Maracas Bay drowning victim identified

The second man, who drowned following a fishing expedition in Maracas Bay on Wednesday morning, has been identified as Olsta Charles.

Charles, along with 66-year-old Joseph McClean, both of Fishing Village, Maracas Bay, drowned when the boat they were in capsized in the waters off the beach.

A 29-year-old man, identified as Keshawn Ramnarine, who was on also on the vessel, managed to swim to shore.

Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and Ramnarine is said to be aiding investigators.

The bodies of both drowning victims were recovered by 8.46am yesterday.
