Security guard pleads guilty to negligence after losing gun

A 41-year-old security officer has plead guilty to negligence after losing her firearm last weekend.

Jenelle Carty is expected to reappear in court for facts and sentencing before a Port of Spain Magistrate on November 12.

Carty, of Belmont, made her first appearance before Magistrate Sanara Toon-McQuilkin on Monday.

PC Lopez was the complainant (Charging officer) in the matter.

Carty was charged under Section 28(1)(a) of the Firearms Act this weekend after she allegedly lost her licensed firearm.

The court continued the bail she received at the Woodbrook Police Station on Saturday night, and adjourned the matter.

It is expected to be recalled in the Port of Spain 4B Court.
