Security guard tied up during robbery

A security guard was tied up during a robbery in Freeport at the Presto Praesto Youth Development and Apprentice Centre.

The incident reportedly took place around 1.30 am on Monday.

Five men reportedly stormed the premises and assaulted the security officer.

One of the men was armed with a firearm.

They then tied up the guard, and the gunman was left to watch over the security officer, while the other four men searched the compound for items of value.

Several electronic items, including a laptop, a projector, speakers, and even weed whackers, were stolen.

The assailants then left the scene, leaving the security guard tied up.

The man managed to undo his bondages around 4.30 am and notified the police.

CCTV footage from residences and businesses in the nearby area are currently being reviewed.
