Security officer charged with one count of sexual penetration of girl

A 23-year-old security officer will appear before the Siparia Magistrates’ Virtual Court on Thursday to answer to one count of sexual penetration of a minor.

The man was arrested on Wednesday, following investigations conducted by W/Cpl (Ag) Renn-Lashley of the South Western Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) into the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl of the district.

According to the victim, the man took her to a location where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

A report was subsequently made to CPU officers in February 2019 and a full-scale investigation resulted in the man’s arrest.

The suspect of Fyzabad will answer to the charge before a Siparia Magistrate on Thursday.

The investigation was headed by W/Supt (Ag) George, Asp (Ag) Sookdeo and supervised by Insp (Ag) Roberts.
