Serious crime down in Tobago
The Tobago Division continues to see a reduction in serious crimes in its district.
The division, which is supervised by ACP Moore and Snr Sup Archie, has seen a 26 percent reduction in serious crimes for the period January 1 to January 25, when compared to the same period last year.
For instance, the division has seen only 90 reports of house break-ins when compared to 146 for the same period last year – which represents a 38 percent reduction in this field alone.
Furthermore, there has been a 41 percent reduction in reports of robbery, as well as an eight percent reduction in reports of larceny.
Added to this, the same district has seen a 39 percent detection rate of crimes committed.
These figures have led the senior officers of the district to commend the men and women who work in their division, noting that it was only through their hard and robust work, while partnering with the communities of the island, that this reduction in serious crimes possible.
