Service disruption affects customers served by El Socorro Waterworks

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the El Socorro Water Works who are currently experiencing a disruption in their pipe-borne water supply that this is due to a defective valve on the distribution system.

A statement from WASA noted that repair works are currently underway and are expected to be completed by midnight.

The affected areas include:

Aranguez

El Socorro North & South

Barataria

Malick

Morvant

Success Village, Laventille

Down Town POS

St. James

Knaggs Hill

Customers are advised that after the system is put back into service, it may take 8 to 12 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to affected areas.

For further information or assistance, customers can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll-free at 800-4420/4426.
