Shooting in Arouca leaves one dead, one injured

One man is dead following a shooting incident in Arouca on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Clifton Charles of Kandahar Road, Arouca

According to police reports, around 12.30 am Friday, Charles was visiting friends at Savannah Road, in Five Rivers, Arouca, when three masked men stormed the building.

The men went to the room where the group of men were and shot at them several times.

The assailants then fled the scene on foot.

In the aftermath, Charles was shot several times and died on the spot.

Another man – identified only as Johnathan Tinto – was shot in his left leg.

He was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he was treated.

He is said to be in a serious condition.
