Shooting suspect held with loaded gun

A St James man wanted in connection with several shooting incidents has been arrested after a loaded gun, ski masks and other items were found at his home on Saturday.

Officers of the St. James Police Station carried out a search of the man’s Upper Belle View home during a police exercise in the district between 5am and 11am.

The search resulted in the discovery of a Beretta pistol loaded with a magazine containing seven rounds of 9mm ammunition, three ski masks, one camouflage jacket and two jilbabs (long and loose-fit coat or outer garment worn by Muslims).

Hidden in some bushes near the suspect’s home officers found 50g of marijuana.

The suspect was arrested in connection with the finds.
