Shotgun found in Sangre Grande

A shotgun was seized on Friday afternoon in Sangre Grande near Junction Road.

The weapon was seized by officers of the Eastern Division Special Operations Team.

According to police reports, around 5.30 pm officers received intelligence which led them to a bushy area off Junction Road, Sangre Grande.

While conducting the search the officers came across the loaded weapon.

The gun was seized and is expected to be sent for ballistic testing.

However, no arrests were made at the time as no persons were within sufficient proximity.

The exercise was led by Sgt Harper, and included Cpl Ramnarine, PC Cielto, PC Singh, PC Lezama, PC Samuel, PC West and WPC Seenath.
