Showers expected as tropical wave approaches
A tropical wave approaching Trinidad and Tobago, currently located 49 - 51 W is continuing its movement in the direction of the West - North West.
There's a 20 percent chance the tropical wave will develop into a tropical storm over the next 48 hours.
In an update on the approaching tropical wave, the Meteorological Service (Met Office) said the islands North of Trinidad will experience the most intense activity associated with the passing of the tropical wave.
Periods of showers and thundershowers are expected to affect Trinidad and Tobago between Friday and Saturday.
The Met Office also warns that there is a chance of the occurrence of street/flash flooding and gusty winds in the event of heavy downpours.
Areas that continue to be waterlogged will be particularly impacted.
An adverse weather alert has been issued for the period Friday 12pm until Saturday 4pm.
The alert notes a medium chance (60%) of thunderstorm activity.
