UPDATE: MOWT advises of moisture causing landslips on North Coast Road

Motorists traversing the North Coast Road are reminded to proceed with caution as the Works and Transport Ministry said the water content/moisture of the hills on the way to Maracas Beach, continues to be high resulting in further landslips.

The Ministry made the comment via tweet earlier today after they cleared the roadway of a landslide which occurred near the Maracas lookout point yesterday.

According to the tweet, technical teams are on site ensuring the roads remain passable at this time.

The Ministry initially received reports from the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) about the landslip and said it would dispatch a technical team and use the necessary manpower to clear the area in as little time as possible.
