Six held after gun, drugs found in Maloney

Six people were arrested after a firearm and a quantity of marijuana were found during a police exercise in Maloney Gardens.

The exercise took place at two apartments along Building 4, Maloney Gardens between 2 pm and 4 pm on Tuesday.

The officers, led by Senior Superintendent Curtis Paul and Senior Superintendent Mark, went to the apartments acting on information received.

In one apartment, the officers found and seized a Glock 19 pistol loaded with one round of ammunition.

There were four people, including two women at the apartment.

The four were arrested.

In the other apartment, the officers found and seized a quantity of marijuana.

Two people who were at home at the time were arrested as a result of the find.

All six are expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate on Friday.
