Six held, six kilos of ganja seized by police

Six persons were expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate after they were arrested during a police exercise in the Arouca district.

The six, said to be between the ages of 18 and 55, were held by officers of the Arouca Police Station and the Northern Division Task Force during a police exercise on Sunday.

The exercise began at about 1:00 pm and lasted until  8:00 pm and was supervised by ACP Jacob, Snr Sup Daniel, Inspector Green, and Cpl Stevenson, among several others.

The six persons were arrested for various offences including driving under the influence, and possession of marijuana.

A total of six kilogrammes of marijuana was seized during this exercise.
