Soka in Moka rebrands, celebrates 20 years in Carnival
Soka in Moka, the all-inclusive carnival fete that kicks start the season every year has been rebranded.
On Wednesday 26 September, the Soka in Moka committee hosted the very first launch of the fete in its 19-year history.
At the launch it was declared that patrons can "xxpect more" - the theme this year – on Sunday 20 January 2019.
Committee member Dexter Charles explained to LoopTT that there will be more food, more drinks, and more entertainment.
Olatunji Yearwood is the first act confirmed for the 2019 instalment of the fete.
Proceeds from the fete will be used to repair Trinity College’s roof.
Charles also indicated that over 19 years of the fete’s existence, the committee has spent over $3 million to complete 35 projects at the school.
Charles urged corporate citizens and alumni to continue to support the venture.
Early bird tickets, priced at $750, went on sale from September 27 and will be available until November 30.
Tickets can be bought from committee members or can be bought online at Suntixx.com.
