Soldier among three held with cocaine

A soldier was among three persons who were arrested in Port of Spain on Wednesday on allegations of trafficking cocaine.

The 27-year-old man was held in the company of two of his friends, aged 25 and 23, at an apartment along Edward Street, Port of Spain, yesterday afternoon by officers of the Port of Spain Division.

The officers, led by ACP Williams, Snr Sup Ramdeen, and ASP Sooker, received intelligence which led them to the apartment.

The officers searched the apartment in the presence of the three men and a quantity of cocaine was found and seized.

As a result of the find, the three were taken into custody where they were questioned.

They are expected to be charged and brought before a Port of Spain Magistrate today.

WPC Wickham is continuing inquiries.
