Son of a WCPL in court for firearm possession
The son of a woman police corporal has appeared before a Sangre Grande magistrate charged with firearm and ammunition possession.
Tyrique Westfield, 19, appeared before Sangre Grande Magistrate Brambhanan Dubay.
Cpl Ramnarine of the Eastern Division's Special Operations Unit was the complainant (charging officer) in this matter.

The teenager was held during a police investigation into the robbery of a variety store in Sangre Grande on January 4.
During the investigations, police received intelligence which led them to Westfield’s home.
The teenager, who was questioned in the presence of his attorney, led officers to an area in Coalmine, Sangre Grande, where he showed them a .380mm pistol.
At the time the pistol had four rounds of ammunition.
It was for this find that he was charged.
