One male suspect is now in police custody for attempted murder following an anti-crime operation conducted by the Special Operational Response Team (SORT) on Friday morning.
According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the suspect was taken to the St Joseph Police Station to await charges.
Police said SORT officers, with help from the Air Support Unit, conducted an intelligence-led operation at John Peter Road, Charlieville, Chaguanas, where they arrested a man for attempted murder.
Based on further intelligence received, the team proceeded to Observatory Street, Port of Spain in the vicinity of the Harp, where they conducted a search. One pistol along with a magazine containing five rounds of ammunition was found and seized.
Investigations are ongoing.
