Spurned Tobago man allegedly holds girl against her will

Police are investigating a report of ‘false imprisonment’ after a 15-year-old girl was harassed and detained against her will in Tobago.

The teenager, who is a Form 2 student, told police that around 9.30 am she was returning to her home after going to a nearby supermarket when she was approached by a man who she knew.

The teenager told police the man tried to talk to her, which she declined, however, after being spurned, he quickly became agitated and physical.

The man allegedly grabbed the 15-year-old and pulled her into a nearby alley where he kept her against her will.

She told police that she made several attempts to leave, however, the man kept her there for an extended period, before eventually, allowing her to go.

PC Wharwood is continuing inquiries.

More on this as it becomes available.
