SRP appears in court for misbehaviour in public office

A 46-year-old Special Reserve Police officer will appear before a San Fernando Magistrate on Friday, on charges of misbehaviour in public office.
The officer, who has 10 years of service in the TT Police Service, was held on Thursday at his Princes Town home.
It is alleged that on November 18, 2017, at Troy City Restaurant and Lounge, in Princes Town, the officer, while employed as a warrant officer, robbed a victim of TT$1600.
The Professional Standards Bureau were notified and investigations were conducted on this matter under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police Totaram Dookhie and included Sgt. Andell Rollocks, Cpl Lawrence Jofield, Cpl Rabindranath Maharaj, PC Ian Mitchell.
This lead to inquiries and the subsequent arrest.
