SRP on maternity leave held after weed found at home
A Special Reserve Police (SRP) officer, who is currently on maternity leave, was arrested on Friday afternoon after a quantity of compressed marijuana and marijuana trees were found at the home that she was staying in.
The woman, who was last attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force, was held at about 2:00 pm on Friday, at a home along Plymouth Road, Union Village, Tobago.
According to police reports, a team of officers from the Organized Crime, Gangs and Narcotics Unit, with assistance from Tobago Task Force, received information which led them to the home which is owned by a 65-year-old man.
In the presence of the elderly man, as well as the SRP and another male, the officers conducted a search of the premises where the drugs were allegedly found and seized.
As a result, all three persons were arrested and taken into custody.
