St Ann's stabbing victim identified

The man who was fatally stabbed in St Ann’s yesterday afternoon has been identified as 42-year-old Marlon Joseph. 

According to police, around 12.45 pm, Joseph was at his home in St Ann’s when an altercation between him and a man known to him ensued. 

Reports say the second man threatened him with a broken glass bottle.  

A 24-year-old man, who was at the scene at the time, attempted to intervene, but he was stabbed in his left arm.   

During the struggle, Joseph sustained stab wounds to the neck and left side of his chest.  

The bottle was eventually removed from the suspect’s possession, and he was detained. 

The police were notified and the two injured parties were rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment, however, Joseph succumbed to his wounds. 

The suspect has since been handed over to police.
