One man was arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division Special Investigations Unit, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Arima district early Friday morning.
Officers investigating a series of robberies at cellular phone stores in the Central and Southern Divisions, had cause to execute a search warrant at a house at Mendez Trace, Arima, between 1.00am and 3.00am, on Friday.
The search resulted in four cellular phones which were reported stolen being discovered and a 27-year-old St Augustine man being arrested in connection with the find.
A search was subsequently conducted at the suspect’s house, which resulted in one revolver and five rounds of ammunition, which were reported stolen from a security guard in January, being discovered.
