St James teen shot while liming with friends
A 19-year-old boy is warded in serious condition at the Port of Spain General Hospital following a shooting in St James on Tuesday.
According to police reports, around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, Pyrice Thomas, from Dundonald Hill, St James, was liming with some friends along the roadway a short distance away from his home, when they were approached by one man.
There was said to be a brief confrontation with the group, during which the man pulled out a firearm and shot at Thomas.
Thomas was hit in his lower torso and legs.
The armed man then fled the scene on foot.
The police and emergency health services were notified and the wounded teenager was rushed for medical treatment.
He is said to be in a serious, but stable condition.
This incident took place just days after Andrew Noel was shot dead along Upper Dundonald Hill, St James.
Noel was fatally shot on Sunday morning while in a vehicle heading north along the roadway.
Police do not believe that he was the intended target.
