St Lucian among 2 UWI students robbed in Curepe
St Joseph police are investigating a report where two students of the University of the West Indies were robbed at gunpoint in Curepe.
The incident allegedly took place in the vicinity of Rapsey Street, Curepe, at about 10.20 pm.
One of the victims, LoopTT was told, is a St Lucian national.
The victims, aged 21 and 22, told police that at about 10.20 pm Wednesday, they were both standing along Rapsey Street, waiting for a friend, when they were approached by two men.
Both men, police were told, were armed with firearms.
They announced a hold-up and relieved the two friends of their cash, cellular phones, and personal documents.
The suspects then escaped, walking in an easterly direction.
The suspects have been described as two men of African descent, both about 5’11” tall, one of whom slim built, clad in a dark coloured vest and dark coloured ¾ pants and the other medium built, clad in a red and white striped hat and a dark coloured ¾ pants.
Anyone with information which could lead to the arrests of these individuals is asked to contact the St Joseph Police Station, or they can give the information anonymously through 555 or 800-TIPS.
