St Mary's College awards top sports and co-curricular performers
Kareen Mason was the Sportsman of the Year
St Mary's College has recognised its top performing students in the co-curricular and sports arenas for the academic year 2017 to 2018.
In a prize-giving ceremony held on November 16, the school awarded the students for their performance and contribution in those areas.
The school has 15 active clubs and students represent their school in 12 different sports.
Sportsman of the Year went to Kareem Mason of Form 4.
The school also recognised Danesh Kumar for over 15 years of service to the College as Hockey coach and starting this year there were two new awards to recognise past students and current parents who assist with the running of their clubs and teams.
The “Excellence in Service Award” went to past student Ryan Shim, the football coach of the school’s Premiership team and parent Clifford Bailey who has positively impacted the Sixth Trinidad Sea Scouts, the Swim team and the Hockey team.
The prize-giving included an address from feature speaker Chester Pierre of Unveil Magazine.
Unveil Media Group is a LLC founded by entrepreneur Chester Pierre, Nicholas Murray and Andrew Sharpe. All past students of St. Mary's College.
Unveil Media Group consist of Unveil Magazine, Unveil Athletes, Unveil TV, Unveil Foundation and Peck the Mascot. Unveil Magazine is a sports based platform that covers all sports in the Secondary School curriculum and Youth National Sport Teams. They are currently the Official Magazine of both the Secondary School Football and Cricket League in Trinidad and Tobago.
