Starlite closes South Park stores, pharmacy still open

Just after a year of being in operation at its South Park, San Fernando location, Starlite has taken a decision to close two of its stores.

In a statement, Starlite Group said it was closing its Starlite Collection and Nova Coffee stores at South Park Mall because the venture was 'financially unviable' at this time.

The closure is with immediate effect.

However, Starlite confirmed to LoopTT its pharmacy will remain open at that location.

The company's statement is as follows:

"The expansion of the Starlite Collection cosmetic company and the development of the Nova Coffee shop was established to service the people of San Fernando has been closed with immediate effect."

"Within the last year, the economic downturn, and scarcity of US dollars has had a major impact on the operations of the business.

"Despite numerous efforts by management to maintain the operations, at this time it has become financially unviable, especially if we wish to maintain the high level of customer service that we pride ourselves on.

"The full closure, however, is temporary as management is currently looking at options to develop a version of the businesses that can have a sustainable scale in San Fernando in the future.

"Customers can still access the services of Starlite Collection at the Maraval Branch for their make-up and skin care needs, and the Nova Coffee beans, will still be available throughout the Starlite Pharmacy branches in Diego Martin, Maraval and San Fernando."

Starlite assured its customers that they will still be able to access services and purchase Inglot products at its flagship store in Maraval, and its Nova coffee beans are available at any Starlite Pharmacy location.

Starlite added that it looks forward to serving its customers' makeup and coffee needs at its flagship store.
