Steelpan remake of Future’s ‘Mask Off’ goes viral

A steelpan version of the popular hip hop song 'Mask Off' by Future done by Trinity College students has become a hit online.

Trinity College student Dillon Pierre says he and his classmates Kyle Blake James, Ziael Roberts, Nkosi James and Khai Alcantara were just practising during lunch last week when they recorded their rendition of the popular tune.

“No rehearsal, not planned! Just playing d a** during lunch!! Mask off! We should actually do it seriously!”

Trinis raved about the rendition and commended the young men:

“This is like the jam sessions me and my school mates used to do in high school so awesome so much talent,” said Mark Hargreaves.

“I fully endorse. Great job guys,” said Rennison Ollivierre.

“Amen !!!!! Finally a positive video of secondary school students in our island God bless them thank you guys for this video showcasing your talent and shedding positive light on today's youths,” said Khegan Simon.
