Still no ID for body found in Moruga

The body of a man which was found in L’Anse Mitan River, Moruga, has yet to be identified.

As a result, the public is once again being asked for assistance in identifying him.

The body is said to be that of a man clad in a black 3/4 jeans and a blue short sleeved jersey.

He had on a sock and one sneaker on his left foot.

The body was swollen and slightly discoloured, due to decomposition, but appeared to be that of a man of dark complexion.

According to an initial examination of the body, there did not appear to be any marks of violence.

However, an autopsy is needed to be done to confirm this.

This process, LoopTT was told, can only be done once the body is identified.

The body was discovered in the river around 9 am yesterday .

It was eventually removed, and viewed by a district medical officer who made certain pronouncements before ordering its removal to the Forensic Science Center in St James.

Up to this morning the deceased had yet to be identified.

Anyone with information which could lead to the identity of the deceased is asked to contact the Moruga Police, the Homicide Bureau, or any police station nearest to them, or anonymously through 555 or 800-TIPS.
