Stolen vehicle set on fire

Police are investigating a strange case where a vehicle was stolen and then set on fire.

The vehicle, a 2.5 tonne Toyota Dyna dump truck, is valued at $90,000.

According to reports, the vehicle was stolen around 1:30 am on Thursday from a stock pile located along Erin Road, Santa Flora.

The driver of the truck, a 28-year-old man made a report to the police.

However, while reporting the stolen vehicle, information was received that the vehicle was seen along Field Road, Santa Flora.

A team of officers led by Cpl Rajkumar visited the scene.

However, when they found the vehicle the cabin of the car was burnt.

Police are trying to determine why this was done and are looking into any reports of criminal activity in the area to determine if the vehicle could be linked.
