The swift work of police led to the recovery of a vehicle in Belmont, mere hours after it was reported stolen in Gasparillo.

When officers found the vehicle, its registration plate had already been switched. Police suspect the car was being prepped to be used for criminal activity.

The car was found and seized by officers of the Besson Street police station, with support from the Air Unit. Police said the vehicle was seized at about 6 am along Olton Lane, Belmont, by a team of officers, including PC Edgar, PC McIntosh, and PC Rosado.

It had been tracked since it had been stolen some hours before.

The vehicle is expected to be dusted for prints, and CCTV footage from nearby cameras are expected to be reviewed with the aim of identifying the suspects.
