Stuart Young meets with lifeguards, representing union
National Security Minister Stuart Young hosted his first meeting with representatives of the Lifeguard Services Division and the National Union of Government and Federated Workers (NUGFW) at the Ministry of National Security head office in Port of Spain.
Discussions focused on several matters affecting the Lifeguard Services Division, including requests for equipment. Minister Young addressed the issues raised and expressed his desire to visit first-hand with the lifeguards to see their facilities and work environment and to assess their needs.
Minister Young assured the representatives of his commitment to improving the Lifeguard Services Division and his intention to build a relationship with them based on mutual respect and open communication.
Young noted that he has experience as a certified lifeguard and is therefore well aware of the environmental and infrastructural challenges associated with the job.
