Supermarkets to remain open, citizens urged not to panic buy

The Supermarket Association is appealing to citizens to not panic buy.

The advisory comes after scores of citizens flocked to supermarkets on Thursday, after the Prime Minister announced that all non-essential activities will cease from Sunday at midnight .

The Association noted that supermarkets are essential services.

As such, it added that the supermarkets will remain open during the stipulated until April 15 and beyond.

Meanwhile, PriceSmart has announced that only two persons will be allowed per membership account.

It will be opened from 8 am to 9 am for senior citizens, pregnant women and those restricted with mobility.
