Suspect held after home invasion in Pleasantville

Police are investigating a report of a home invasion earlier this week in Pleasantville.

One man is currently in custody, while police search for the second suspect.

The incident took place around 11:00 am along Orchid Gardens, Pleasantvillle on April 2, 2019.

Police were told that the victim was at his home when he was confronted by two men – one of whom was armed with a firearm.

The suspects tied up the victim and proceeded to rob him of his cash and valuables – including the keys to his white Nissan AD Wagon which was parked outside.

The suspects then escaped in the same wagon.

Eventually, the victim was able to untie himself and notify the police.

Officers from the Mon Repos police station responded, and Cpl Nanan was appointed to oversee inquiries.

The lawmen, following information received, found the car abandoned at Harmony Hall, Gasparillo, that same day. They were able to detain one man who matched the description of the thieves near the scene where the car was recovered.

LoopTT was told that additional arrests were pending.

More on this as it becomes available.
