Suspect held after man robbed while leaving bank
A Beetham man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate this week following investigations into a $30,000 robbery.
The suspect was held on Friday morning by a team of officers from the Port of Spain Division and the Inter-Agency Task Force.
According to police reports, Inspector Robert Joseph, from the Northern Division Special Investigations Unit, was conducting inquiries in the capital city when he observed the suspect walking along the pavement.
An all-points bulletin was issued and the suspect was detained.
He was wanted for a robbery which occurred near the city of Grand Bazaar three weeks ago.
The victim had reportedly left a bank, having taken out $30,000 in cash.
The victim stopped at Grand Bazaar to purchase food, however, he was robbed by a group of men.
The suspect, LoopTT was told, was known to the police, having been arrested for similar offences in the past.
