Suspect held in recent shootings in Rampanalagas Village
A 27-year-old man is expected to appear before a Sangre Grande Magistrate on Monday on eight charges of shooting with intent.
The suspect, who is said to be from Rampanalagas Village, is believed to be one of the persons who has wrought mayhem in the traditionally peaceful community over the past three weeks.
In recent times in the area, there have been two homicides, several persons were shot in separate incidents – including an 80-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy, and a house, as well as a car, were set on fire.
This weekend, officers of the Toco Police Station received key intelligence which led them to arrest the 27-year-old.
The arrest was made by a team of officers led by Snr Sup Nelson, with assistance from ASP Romain, Inspector Lutchman, Cpl Rahael, W-Cpl Lezama, and several others.
LoopTT was told that more arrests are expected to be made in the near future.
More on this as it becomes available.
