Suspect in St Joseph fire confesses to murder

A 22-year-old man, who is in custody for the murders of 30-year-old Chriss Brewster and her 88-year-old bedridden landlord, Peter Felix, has allegedly confessed to the crime.

The suspect has been in custody since Tuesday.

While being questioned, the young man reportedly admitted to cutting Brewster’s throat and setting the house on fire on Monday night. He said he did not know the incident would claim the life of the 88-year-old man.

Officers of the St Joseph Police Station received a report of a fire at a two storey home along Wellington Street, St Joseph, around 10 pm on October 31.

The bodies of the wheelchair-bound man and the USC graduate were found in the house.
