Suspended cop gets in accident with marked TTPS vehicle

A police constable, who is currently out on suspension, was involved in a road traffic accident with a marked police vehicle.

The incident took place at about 10.20pm on Sunday.

According to reports, three officers were conducting patrols along Factory Road, Piarco, when they were involved in a road traffic accident.

A vehicle which was proceeding in the opposite direction collided with them. One of the officers in the marked vehicle sustained injuries to his head.

The driver of the other vehicle, a police officer who was last attached to the Inter Agency Task Force, was detained.

Responders claim that he failed to submit a sample of breath for testing, and as such, a breathalyzer test was unsuccessful.

As a result, he was conveyed to the Piarco Police Station.
