Minor changes have been made regarding the relocation of the Port-of-Spain and Chaguanas taxi stands from Upper High Street to King’s Wharf.
The drivers will now be allowed to move their stands to Harris Promenade and Upper High Street respectively, on Sundays.
In a brief statement on Facebook, the San Fernando City Corporation said the decision was taken due to the constructive comments and feedback received from the public.
The post was accompanied by an updated public notice detailing the adjusted days.
The changes are due to take effect on August 26, as part of a one-month trial plan. Following this period, a review will be done to determine whether the arrangement will remain as is, or revert to the original plan.
From Monday, the stands will move to King’s Wharf between the hours of 6 am and 5.30 pm from Mondays to Saturdays. They are allowed to return to their original locations on evenings from 6 pm to 5.30 am on Mondays to Saturdays.
