Teen ambushed, shot in Cocorite

A 19-year-old man is nursing a gunshot injury after he was ambushed in Cocorite.

The victim has been identified as Bradley Dumas of Belmont.

According to reports, Dumas had just left the home of someone known to him and was walking between a track which connects Waterhole Road and Harding Place, when he ambushed by a group of men around 7 p.m. on Friday.

Dumas attempted to flee the scene and told police that he heard several shots fired in his direction. While running he felt an intense pain to his right arm, however, he did not stop.

It was only when he was away from his attackers, he realized he had been shot.

The wounded man was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he was treated.
