Teen held after bringing ammo, magazine to school

A 14-year-old student was questioned by police after he was allegedly held with one round of .22mm ammunition and a magazine at his school.

The teenager, police said, had been showing off the illegal items to his classmates.

According to reports, at about 1:30 pm Thursday, officers of the San Fernando Police Station received a report that security officials at a primary school in the district had detained the teenager after he was held with the illegal items.

The boy’s mother was immediately contacted and informed of the incident.

Statements have been recorded from school officials on the matter.

However, investigators are expected to seek instructions today on whether or not the teenager should be charged with the offence of possession of ammunition.

More on this as it becomes available.
