Teen shot during robbery

An 18-year-old man was shot during a robbery in Ste Madeleine Monday night.

The victim, from Sunress Road, Penal, was walking along Scion Drive in Phase 2, Tarodale, around 8.40 pm when he was approached by two men.

One of the men, armed with a firearm, announced a hold-up.

They then attempted to rob the victim, however, the 18-year-old resisted.

A struggle ensued between the victim and the man armed with a firearm, during which the weapon discharged, hitting the victim in his left hand.

The assailants then escaped.

However, they were able to relieve the victim of a gold chain valued at $7,000, as well as his cellular phone.

The victim made a report to the Mon Repos Police Station and was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Sgt Prescott is continuing inquiries.

The suspects were described as  -
1. A man of mixed descent about 6 feet  2 inches tall, brown complexion, slim-built, wearing a black t-shirt, and a 3/4pants.

2. A man of African descent, dark complexion wearing a white vest, and about six feet tall.
